Weekly Email 67: Don't Eat Old Guacamole!!

Hello everyone!! This week was insane...

but first, here's all the stuff I didn't have time to write last week!

- We had to deep clean our entire house for EIGHT HOURS. Like Sr Fegter says "If it exists, you clean it". I don't think I've ever thoroughly cleaned like that in my whole life. It was tiring but our house was sparkling clean at the end! You would be proud of me Mom

- Sr Rimbert and I finished our dessert fast! It was a liberating moment. Sr O'Hara bought me a chocolate bar to eat (thanks, Sr O'Hara!). I hadn't eaten stuff like that in so long, I felt like my teeth were going to fall out! Sr Rimbert got the McFlurry she's been waiting for for 8 months. It gave me a stomach ache. But don't worry, we're back to normal now! Our dessert fast was really hard but at least it proved to me I have self-control hahah

- Sunday we had our missionary fireside on the eternal family! All the missionaries in the zone prepared musical numbers. Oh my goodness it was SO stressful to plan. We tried to plan ahead but so many things would fall through last minute. It was frustrating when that would happen because I was praying so hard to have help from Heavenly Father! But I knew we just had to trust in Him and it would be ok. And it was!! Everything came together and it was a beautiful program! Yay!

This week!

- We went running all together one morning and this random French guy I dont even know walks by and tells us we got fatter HAHA I was dead

- A dog died on the road 2 weeks ago and no one got rid of it. It's super gross. We've seen a step by step process of how a dog decomposes...

- The new missionaries came!! We have two new ones in the house. One is from the same stake as me back home!! We never met each other before though haha and another new missionary is from MA! She's in Paea though. Finally some New England people!

- Our lessons Tuesday were so weird, I don't even know how to describe it..some things could come straight out of a comedy. But even at the end of the day I was so happy to be a missionary here! No matter what happens, we are happy to be here! No matter the heat, fatigue, disappointments or weird moments of the day, at the end of it all you only remember the good!

- Sr Rimbert decided to eat guacamole that had been sitting in our car trunk in direct sunlight for 5 hours. You can guess what happened.

- This week was crazy because Sr Rimbert has anemia and was sick, our phone battery pretty much exploded and we had to downgrade to our old phone, and someone tried to steal our car during district meeting!! There were 4 missionary cars in the parking lot but for some reason someone tried to take ours. They forced the windows down and tried to hot wire it. But we weren't even in a sketchy neighborhood so yeah it was weird. But lots of blessings throughout it all because we still have the car! The window was broken and no longer went up or down automatically, but a member fixed it for us. So Saturday we were on foot and our secteur has HUGE mountain neighborhoods we had to hike up. But Heavenly Father blessed us through it all because all our lessons were right next to each other. Sr Rimbert was low on blood iron and still did it, what a champ. It was approximately 10000F, I've never sweat so much on my life. But I know making sacrifices like that helps us grow and we will be blessed! God always asks us to make sacrifices, He asked his Son to make the greatest of all. This is a Church of sacrifices, God asks us to do a lot, but only because He knows we can do it!! And we are always blessed. I was a little frustrated with all the craziness of this week because we lost a lot of proselyting time. But throughout it all I kept seeing little blessings all over the place. Heavenly Father never abandons us!

- Like I said, it is SO HOT. It's the hottest season of the year right now. It is super unbearable. Thinking about stuff like snow or jackets or scarves is weird.

- We had a HUGE miracle this week!! Back with Sr Kohl we had a miracle when we found this couple that was super receptive to the Gospel. They were our golden investigators, I seriously felt like we were in the district. But then stuff happened and they stopped progressing, it was super sad. We tried everything we could but they even told us it wasn't us, it was them. They just no longer had the desire. On Sunday the husband told us his wife was no longer interested in the lessons. It was super heartbreaking!! Tuesday we went to see them and we had prepped ourselves, we told ourselves that we had to respect their choice and even though it hurts, it's just not the right moment for them. Well imagine our shock when they told us "The stake president's testimony at your missionary fireside about the eternal family really touched us. We discussed a lot and we want to get baptized". AHH WHAT!! So now they're getting baptized December 29!!! Miracles!! I almost cried, it's like the same feeling you get when someone tells you they're having a kid after 15 years of trying and they think all hope is gone haha I am so grateful to God for this miracle!!

Life is crazy, life is good, it's all in a day's work ;) I love this Gospel and I hope you all make it a part of your life. Also happy late Thanksgiving, I totally forgot about it!

TRADUZIONE IN ITALIANO

Ciao a tutti!! Questa settimana è stata pazzesca....

ma prima, ecco tutto quello che non ho avuto tempo di scrivere la settimana scorsa!

-Abbiamo dovuto pulire a fondo la nostra intera casa per OTTO ORE. Come dice Sorella Fegter "Se esiste, va pulito". Non penso che abbia mai fatto delle pulizie così accurate in tutta la mia vita. È stato stancante ma alla fine casa nostra era di un pulito brillante! Saresti stata fiera di me, Mamma.

-Io e Sorella Rimbert abbiamo finito il nostro digiuno dei dolci! È stato un momento liberatorio. Sorella O'Hara mi ha comprato una stecca di cioccolato (grazie, Sorella O'Hara!). Non mangiavo roba del genere da tanto tempo mi sembrava come se i denti mi stessero per cadere! Sorella Rimbert ha mangiato il McFlurry che aspettava da 8 mesi. Mi è venuto il mal di stomaco. Ma non vi preoccupate, siamo tornate alla normalità ora! Il nostro digiuno di dolci è stato molto difficile ma almeno mi ha dato la prova che ho auto-disciplina ahaha

-Domenica abbiamo fatto il nostro caminetto missionario sulle famiglie eterne! Tutti i missionari della zona hanno preparato dei numeri musicali. Mamma mia, è stato COSÌ stressante organizzarlo. Abbiamo cercato di programmarlo in anticipo ma tante cose sono venute meno all'ultimo momento. Era frustrante perché avevo pregato tanto per avere l'aiuto del Padre Celeste! Ma sapevo che dovevamo avere fiducia in Lui e che tutto sarebbe andato bene. Ed è stato così!! Tutto è andato a posto ed è stato un bel programma! Evviva!

Questa settimana!

-Siamo andate tutte a correre una mattina e un tipo francese che non conosco neanche si avvicina e ci dice che siamo diventate più grasse AHAH ero morta

-Un cane è morto per strada due settimane fa e nessuno lo ha rimosso. Fa proprio ribrezzo. Abbiamo visto passo passo come si decompone un cane...

-I nuovi missionari sono arrivati!!! Ne abbiamo due nuove in casa. Una viene dal mio palo!!! Non ci siamo incontrate mai prima d'ora ahah e un'altra nuova missionaria viene dal Massachusetts! È a Paea però. Finalmente alcune persone del New England!

- Le nostre lezioni martedì sono state così strane, non so neanche come descriverlo... alcune cose sarebbero potute venir fuori direttamente da una commedia. Ma nonostante ciò alla fine del giorno ero così felice di essere una missionaria qui! A prescindere da cosa succede, siamo felici di essere qua! Nonostante il caldo, la stanchezza, le delusioni o i momenti strani della giornata alla fine di tutto si ricorda solo quello che di bello è successo!

-Sorella Rimbert ha deciso di mangiare il guacamole che era rimasto nel cofano della macchina sotto la luce diretta del sole per 5 ore. Potete immaginare cosa sia successo

-Questa settimana è stata pazzesca perché Sorella Rimbert ha l'anemia ed è stata male, la batteria del telefono è praticamente esplosa e abbiamo dovuto riutilizzare il nostro vecchio telefono e qualcuno ha cercato di rubarci la macchina durante la riunione di distretto!! C'erano 4 macchine di missionari nel parcheggio ma per qualche ragione qualcuno ha cercato di prendere la nostra. Hanno forzato i finestrini e hanno cercato di collegare i fili per metterla in moto. Ma non eravamo nemmeno in una brutta zona così è stato davvero strano. Ma abbiamo avuto tante benedizioni nonostante tutto perché abbiamo ancora la macchina! Il finestrino è rotto e non sale nè scende più automaticamente ma un membro l'ha aggiustato per noi. Allora sabato siamo dovute andare a piedi e il nostro settore è una zona con montagne ENORMI così abbiamo dovuto fare delle grosse scarpinate in salita. Ma il Padre Celeste ci ha benedetto durante tutta questa situazione perché tutte le nostre lezioni erano vicine l'una all'altra. Sorella Rimbert aveva carenza di ferro nel sangue e ce l'ha fatta lo stesso, che campionessa. Erano circa 5000 C, non ho mai sudato tanto in vita mia. Ma so che fare sacrifici come questi ci aiuta a crescere e che saremo benedette! Dio ci chiede sempre di fare sacrifici. Lui ha chiesto a suo Figlio di fare il sacrificio più grande. Questa è una chiesa di sacrifici, Dio ci chiede molto ma solo perché sa che ce la possiamo fare!! E siamo sempre benedette. Ero un po' frustrata per tutte le cose pazzesche che sono successe questa settimana perché abbiamo perso un sacco di tempo per fare proselitismo. Ma attraverso tutte queste cose ho continuato a vedere benedizioni dappertutto. Il Padre Celeste non ci abbandona mai!

-Come ho detto, fa COSÌ CALDO. È la stagione più calda dell'anno adesso. È super insopportabile. Pensare a cose tipo la neve o le giacche o le sciarpe è strano.

- Abbiamo avuto un miracolo ENORME questa settimana!! Quando stavo con Sorella Kohl abbiamo avuto un miracolo quando abbiamo trovato questa coppia che era super ricettiva al Vangelo. Erano i nostri investigatori d'oro, mi sembrava davvero di essere nel video Il Distretto. Ma poi sono successe delle cose e hanno smesso di progredire, è stato super triste. Abbiamo provato di tutto ma ci hanno perfino detto che non era colpa nostra, ma loro. Non avevano più il desiderio. La domenica il marito ci ha detto che sua moglie non era più interessata alle lezioni. È stato davvero da crepacuore!! Martedì siamo andate a trovarli e c'eravamo preparate, ci siamo dette che dovevamo rispettare la loro scelta e che anche se fa male, non è semplicemente il loro momento. Ebbene, immaginate lo shock quando ci hanno detto "La testimonianza del presidente di palo al vostro caminetto missionario sulla famiglia eterna ci ha davvero toccato. Ne abbiamo discusso a lungo e vogliamo essere battezzati". AAHHH, COSA!!! Così ora si battezzeranno il 29 dicembre!!! Miracoli!!! Ho quasi pianto, è la stessa sensazione che si prova quando qualcuno ti dice che stanno per avere un figlio dopo 15 anni che ci provavano e ormai credevano che non ci fossero più speranze ahah. So così grata a Dio per questo miracolo!!

La vita è pazzesca, la vita è buona, tutto nello stesso giorno ;) Amo questo Vangelo e spero che tutti voi lo facciate divenire parte della vostra vita. Anche felice Giorno del Ringraziamento nonostante il ritardo, me ne ero completamente dimenticata!
