Weekly Email 62: My apples are tanner than I am

So it has been SUPER hot this week. The sun is just super heavy and it's like it sucks away all our energy. So that means our car gets really hot, and the apples we left in the trunk got cooked!! Like they are super brown now. hahaha they are darker than me!
This past week at MAHINA (le meilleur secteur):
- I hit 14 months this week! Not really sure how that happened, I just got here!
- So we talked a lot about sacrifices that we can do for the Lord. Well Sr Rimbert and I REALLY love chocolate and ice cream and all that good stuff. So we decided to do a dessert fast for ONE MONTH, in order to sacrifice something we really love for our amis. It has been so tough hahah there is temptation everywhere! This is seriously the biggest test of willpower and self control that I've ever had. We're going from October 15-November 15, it's been one week so far! But sacrifice = lots and lots of blessings! Everyone thinks we're crazy but pas grave
- Conseil des Dirigeants was so good! It's always super powerful! We talked about going out of our comfort zone, so I want to start doing more things that put me out of my comfort zone! It's hard but it's only like that that you can grow! After we got to go to the temple since Sr Rimbert hasn't been in 8 months. I got to do a family name which was so awesome! I love the temple!! Never take it for granted!
- Saturday we cleaned cemeteries for 3 hours for a service project! It was cool but everyone got burnt hahah We learned how to say random phrases in tahitian from an old papi next to us
- One month ago Sr Alvares came to us and said she wanted to be baptized! And Saturday was her baptism! She was SO excited! She doesn't know a ton but had such a huge desire to be baptized! It was a beautiful service. Baptism really just is the beginning, we grow and progress so much after!
- Sundays are always really busy, with all our meetings and stuff we never have time to eat lunch, because church is at 11:30. So this time me and Sr Rimbert brought leftover food and forks and sat in the trunk of our car eating lasagna right before church started. It was super funny. It was a really good decision.
Ok, there's other stuff I could write but I have like no time left so that's all! Serving with Sr Rimbert is so fun, we are seriously always laughing so hard we are crying. I swear our mission is like an episode of The Office, I wish I could write everything that happens. N'importe quoi. 😂 Never a dull moment! We are crazy together but that's a good thing ;) I am seriously so grateful for our Bishop, DMP, and Stake President! They help us SO much and it makes all the difference! We are so blessed!
I love Mahina and am so happy I get to serve here!! I would love to stay here with Sr Rimbert until the end of my mission! Sometimes it's stressful with all the stuff we have to do on top of all our extra responsibilities we get because we're STLs, but I know Heavenly Father is always there to help us out. We can see little miracles everyday if we keep our eyes open.

Allora ha fatto CALDISSIMO questa settimana. Il sole è proprio forte e sembra assorbire tutta la nostra energia. Il che significa che la nostra macchina si arroventa e le mele che abbiamo lasciato nel cofano si sono cotte!!! Sono super marroni ora. Ahahaha, sono più scure di me!
Questa settimana a Mahina (il miglior settore):
-Ho fatto 14 mesi di missione questa settimana! Non so come sia successo, sono appena arrivata!
-Abbiamo parlato molto dei sacrifici che possiamo fare per il Signore. Ebbene, a me e a Sorella Rimbert piace MOLTISSIMO la cioccolata e il gelato e tutte le cose dolci. Allora abbiamo deciso di fare un digiuno di dolci per UN MESE, al fine di sacrificare qualcosa che ci piace tanto per i nostri simpatizzanti. È stato così difficile ahahah, c'è tentazione dovunque! Questa è sicuramente la prova di forza di volontà e di autocontrollo più grande che abbia mai avuto. Lo faremo dal 15 ottobre al 15 novembre, è passata una settimana finora! Ma il sacrificio = un mucchio di benedizioni! Tutti pensano che siamo pazze ma pas grave (non è un problema).
-Il Consiglio dei Dirigenti è stato così bello! È sempre molto potente! Abbiamo parlato di come uscire dalla nostra zona di confort, allora voglio cominciare a fare più cose che me lo permetteranno! È difficile ma è solo così che possiamo crescere! Dopo siam potute andare al tempio poiché Sorella Rimbert non ci è andata per 8 mesi. Ho potuto fare un nome di famiglia il che è stato grandioso! Amo il tempio !!! Non lo prendete mai per scontato!
-Sabato abbiamo pulito i cimiteri per 3 ore come progetto di servizio! È stato così forte ma tutti si sono bruciati ahah
Abbiamo imparato a dire frasi a caso in taitiano da un vecchio papi che stava vicino a noi
- Un mese fa Sorella Alvarez è venuta da noi e ha detto che voleva battezzarsi! E sabato c'è stato il suo battesimo! Era COSÌ emozionata! Non sa molto ma aveva un enorme desiderio di essere battezzata! È stato un bel servizio. Il battesimo è davvero solo l'inizio, cresciamo e progrediamo così tanto dopo!
-Le domeniche sono sempre piene di impegni, con tutte le nostre riunioni e cose simili non abbiamo mai il tempo di pranzare, perché la chiesa inizia alle 11:30. Allora questa volta io e Sorella Rimbert abbiamo portato il cibo rimasto e le forchette e ci siamo sedute nel cofano della nostra macchina a mangiare la lasagna proprio prima che iniziasse la chiesa. È stato divertentissimo. È stata proprio una buona decisione.
Ok, potrei scrivere ancora ma non ho più tempo così questo è tutto! Servire con Sorella Rimbert è così divertente, davvero ridiamo sempre così forte che ci vengono le lacrime agli occhi. Vi garantisco che la nostra missione è come un episodio di The Office, vorrei poter scrivere tutto quello che succede. N'importe quoi (Non fa niente). 😂 Non c'è mai un momento di noia! Siamo pazze insieme ma è una buona cosa ;) Sono seriamente grata per il nostro Vescovo, il Dirigente del Lavoro Missionario e il Presidente di Palo! Ci aiutano COSÌ tanto e fa la differenza! Siamo così benedette!
Amo Mahina e sono così contenta di servire qui!! Mi piacerebbe tanto stare qui con Sorella Rimbert fino alla fine della mia missione! A volte è stressante con tutta le cose che abbiamo da fare oltre alle responsabilità extra che abbiamo perché siamo STL, ma so che il Padre Celeste è sempre lì ad aiutarci. Possiamo vedere miracoli ogni giorno se teniamo gli occhi aperti.
