Weekly Email 59: Rich People Only!

Ok quel échec c'est octobre?? What the what. Time is seriously flying. No wonder I don't know what month or day it is half the time. I'm also so used to hearing "Sr Battezzato" that I forget I have a first name hahah It doesn't at all feel like October except this morning I had to rake leaves in our yard so it kind of reminded me of home. Except for that it was 85F and I was raking next to a coconut tree hahaha so not really like home at all
So Sr Kohl told me there's a little island off the coast of Tahiti called Tetiaroa. There's a hotel on it and it's only for rich people! Like literally you can only get there by private jet. If you're in the mountains at the top of our secteur you can see the outline on the horizon! Maybe I'll go work there someday ;)
This past week in Mahina:
- Monday our p day got cut down because we went to the temple on Thursday. No one is ever thrilled to lose 4 hours of a pday but we decided to thank Heavenly Father for the occasion to work more in the secteur! It was a small sacrifice we were willing to make. And Heavenly Father blessed us so much!! It was the best 4 hours! We saw so many people and it was just so great!! That morning had been stressful too and we hadn't been in that great of a mood, but as we went out and worked all the stress and fatigue was wiped away! Working is the cure! :) We really are blessed for making sacrifices!
- I was so impressed with Mahina's conseil de paroisse (ward council) this week, it is SUCH a blessing to serve here! The Bishop, DMP, and Stake President are all very engaged in the work as well as other members. It seriously helps us SO much. Members, help your missionaries!! They need you! We also talked this week about converts. When they become members it's a huge life change, they need your help and support! Reach out to the converts in your ward! - Zone Conference on Tuesday was awesome!! I got really good notes! I really loved the trainings. That day (Sep 25) was my one year mark in Tahiti! It has just flown by I can't believe it. I remember coming here the first night and everything felt so foreign and weird, but now it really is home for me here. I am seriously sad I don't get 2 years like the rest of my MTC group!!! No fair. - Our ami Elvis got baptized Saturday!! He was SO happy, the Spirit was so strong! He doesn't usually show emotion but he couldn't keep a huge smile off his face. And miracle, we had a woman come to us 2 weeks ago saying she wants to get baptized, so we were able to fix that! And Friday we had another miracle, thanks to following the promptings of the Spirit we found an amazing couple who is SO ready for the Gospel. And they just got married 2 months ago! Miracles! That's what blocked them from baptism 4 years ago. - Last night we had a missionary fireside on The Book of Mormon and it went so well! The Spirit was so strong. Last Monday we bought fabric so that the Elders all had matching ties and us sisters all had matching dresses. But me and Sr Kohl's dresses were made last minute and let's just say I won't be wearing it again..........no comment hahaha at least the other sister's dresses came out well :')
- we went to the temple and it was so good!! I LOVE the temple!!
- this week Sr Kohl accidentally ran over a puppy and it died. We were very traumatized. But it was really sick and suffering so maybe we did it a favor? We just didn't see it!! oh man...but bishop's wife did the same thing earlier that week ah so awful As I reflected on my past year in French Polynesia my heart was so full, it was just swelling in gratitude for my mission and everything I've experienced. It has been the best gift! And I am so grateful for this transfer in Mahina, it has been amazing. I have loved serving here with Sr Kohl, and we want to finish this transfer strong! I can't believe transfer calls are on Friday already! I am so grateful to Heavenly Father for dragging me here 6 weeks ago, He always knows best :) He is probably saying "I told you so!". Great things are ahead!

Ok quel échec c'est octobre?? (Che fallimento, è già ottobre??) Ma che cosa. Il tempo sta davvero volando. Non c'è da meravigliarsi che non sappia che mese o giorno sia il più delle volte. Sono anche così abituata a sentire "Soeur Battezzato" che mi dimentico di avere un nome ahahah Non sembra proprio ottobre tranne che stamattina dovevo raccogliere le foglie nel giardino così questo quasi mi ha ricordato un po' casa. A parte quello c'erano 30C e io stavo rastrellando le foglie vicino a un albero di cocco hahaha così non proprio come a casa per niente.
Allora Sorella Kohl mi ha detto che c'è una piccola isola a largo di Tahiti che si chiama Tetiaroa. C'è un albergo ed è solo per i ricchi! Si può andare lì solo con un aereo privato. Se si va in montagna sulle cime del nostro settore si può vederne la sagoma all'orizzonte! Forse andrò a lavorare lì un giorno ;)
La settimana scorsa a Mahina:
-Lunedì il nostro pday è stato accorciato perché siamo andati al tempio giovedì. Nessuno è mai contento di perdere 4 ore di un pday ma abbiamo deciso di ringraziare il Padre Celeste per l'opportunità di lavorare di più nel nostro settore! È stato un piccolo sacrificio che abbiamo fatto volentieri. E il Padre Celeste ci ha benedetto tanto!! Sono state le 4 ore migliori! Abbiamo visto tante persone ed è stato così bello!! Quella mattina era stata stressante e non eravamo nel migliore degli stati d'animo ma come siamo uscite e abbiamo lavorato tutto lo stress e la stanchezza sono stati spazzati via! Lavorare è il rimedio! :)
Siamo davvero benedette quando facciamo dei sacrifici!
-Sono rimasta così favorevolmente colpita dal consiglio di rione di Mahina questa settimana, è una TALE benedizione servire qui! Il Vescovo, il Dirigente del Lavoro Missionario e il Presidente di Palo mettono tutti molto impegno in chiesa così come gli altri membri. Ci aiuta davvero MOLTO. Membri, aiutate i vostri missionari!! Hanno bisogno di voi! Abbiamo anche parlato questa settimana dei nuovi convertiti. Quando diventano membri c'è un grosso cambiamento nella loro vita, hanno bisogno del vostro aiuto e sostegno! Andate incontro ai convertiti del vostro rione!
- La Conferenza di Zona martedì è stata fantastica!! Ho preso davvero dei buoni appunti! Gli addestramenti mi sono piaciuti molto. Quel giorno (25 settembre) ho fatto un anno a Tahiti! È volato via così in fretta da non crederci. Mi ricordo quando sono arrivata qui la prima sera e tutto mi sembrava così straniero e strano, ma ora è proprio casa per me qui. Sono seriamente rattristata che non possa fare 2 anni di missione qui come il resto del mio gruppo del MTC!!! Non è giusto.
- Il nostro simpatizzante Elvis si è battezzato sabato!! Era COSÌ felice, lo Spirito era così forte! Solitamente non mostra emozioni ma non poteva fare a meno di mostrare un grande sorriso sul suo volto. E miracolo, c'è stata una donna che è venuta da noi 2 settimane fa dicendo che voleva essere battezzata, così abbiamo potuto esaudire il suo desiderio! E venerdì abbiamo ricevuto un altro miracolo, grazie all'aver seguito i suggerimenti dello Spirito abbiamo trovato una coppia straordinaria che è COSÌ pronta per il Vangelo. E si sono sposati appena due mesi fa! Miracolo! Questo è quanto li ha bloccati dal battesimo 4 anni fa.
-Ieri sera abbiamo fatto una serata a caminetto sul Libro di Mormon ed è andata così bene! Lo Spirito era così forte. Lunedì scorso abbiamo comprato della stoffa così gli anziani avrebbero avuto tutti le cravatte uguali e noi sorelle tutte i vestiti uguali. Ma il vestito mio e di Sorella Kohl sono stati fatti all'ultimo momento e diciamo pure che non lo indosserò di nuovo...no comment ahahah almeno i vestiti delle altre sorelle sono venuti bene :')
-Siamo andate al tempio ed è stato così bello!! Amo il tempio!!
-Questa settimana Sorella Kohl involontariamente ha investito un cucciolo ed è morto. Siamo rimaste così traumatizzate. Ma era molto malato e sofferente così forse gli abbiamo fatto un favore? Non lo abbiamo visto!!! Mannaggia... ma la moglie del vescovo ha fatto pure lei la stessa cosa all'inizio della settimana....ah! Terribile!
Riflettendo sullo scorso anno nella Polinesia Francese ho sentito il mio cuore gonfio di gratitudine per la mia missione e tutto ciò che ho sperimentato. È stato il dono migliore! E sono così grata per questo trasferimento a Mahina, è stato incredibile. Amo servire qui con Sorella Kohl e vogliamo finire questo trasferimento alla grande! Non posso crederci che venerdì ci saranno già i trasferimenti! Sono così grata al Padre Celeste per avermi trascinato qui 6 settimane fa, Lui sa sempre ciò che è meglio :) Probabilmente starà dicendo "Te l'avevo detto!". Grandi cose stanno per accadere!
