Weekly Email 53: Leaf Umbrellas
StartFragmentBonjour everyone!! This week was super awesome, lots of cool stuff! Here's some highlights:
- Did a split this week with Sr Matthews, she's the best! We went to my secteur and President and Sr Fox even came with us for 2 lessons!! It was so good!! I am so blessed to have such wonderful sisters in the zone and such a wonderful mission president and mission president's wife. I am so grateful for them!!!
- Sr Maitere, Sr Fowers, Sr Todd and I went on a little walk in the woods last pday, I felt like I was in the jungle! It started pouring rain and I was like shoot I don't have an umbrella! But then Sr Maitere just goes and finds these HUGE leaves and rips them out of the ground, and we used those as umbrellas! It was pretty sick!! #onlyintahiti (I'll try to get the pictures of that to send next week)
- One of our ami's cousins came to us and asked if he could start the lessons on Saturday, and yesterday he told us he wants to be baptized! What? Yes!!! and that ami's sister also told us she wants to start the lessons too!! Miracles! We also had a huge breakthrough lesson with an ami on Thursday which helped SO much! The work is rolling along so well! It's nice to see Heavenly Father blessing us as a result of our hard work!
- A 7 year old saw a picture of President Russell M. Nelson in my hymnbook and asked if it was my dad. Yes, my dad is a 93 year old man!
- When I was reading the Book of Mormon with an ami I accidentally misread anguillons (spindles) as anguilles (eels) when talking about the Liahona hahaha so I said the Liahona had 2 eels in it that guided Nephi's family
- On August 16 I hit my ONE YEAR mark! AH!! I'm not sure how that happened, I've never had a year of my life go by so quickly. Time is flying by and I'm not ok! It's crazy to look back at everything that's happened this past year. I've learned so much and had so many life-changing experiences! I never thought I would serve my mission in French Polynesia but I'm SO grateful this is where Heavenly Father sent me. This has been the hardest but most amazing year of my life! I haven't loved every moment, there are definitely moments where you wish you were doing anything else but that, mostly in the moments of fatigue, discouragement, or rejection. But I am grateful for every single of those moments because it helped me grow a lot! I love my mission with all my heart. I feel like my heart has been stretched so much, I've felt the extreme of every emotion. It has been the experience of a lifetime! I honestly would do 2 years if I could. I am so sad to think there's only 6 months left!! But I want to give Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father all I have, up to the end.
I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY IN TAHITI!!! Here's to the last 6 months and all the amazing experiences yet to come!
This week is transfer calls and I am praying so hard I will get to stay another transfer in Fautaua 2!!!

Bonjour a tutti! Questa settimana è stata superfantastica, Un sacco di cose belle! Ecco alcune cose da mettere in risalto:
-Ho fatto uno scambio questa settimana con Sorella Matthews, è la migliore! Siamo andate nel mio settore e anche il Presidente e Sorella Fox sono venuti con noi per 2 lezioni!! È stato così bello!! Sono così benedetta ad avere delle sorelle così meravigliose nella mia zona e un presidente di missione così meraviglioso al pari di sua moglie. Sono così grata per loro!!!
-Sono andata con Sorella Maitere, Sorella Fowers e Sorella Todd a fare una camminata nei boschi lo scorso pday, mi sembrava di stare in una giungla! Ha cominciato a piovere a dirotto e io ho pensato che, accipicchia, non avevo un ombrello! Ma poi Sorella Maitere è andata a trovare queste ENORMI foglie e le ha divelte dalla terra e le abbiamo usate come ombrelli! È stato fortissimo!! #soloatahiti (proverò a mandare le foto la prossima settimana)
-Uno dei cugini di un nostro simpatizzante è venuto da noi e ci ha chiesto se poteva iniziare le lezioni sabato e ieri ci ha detto che vuole essere battezzato! Cosa? Sì!!! E anche la sorella di quel simpatizzante ci ha detto che vuole iniziare le lezioni pure lei!! Miracoli! Abbiamo fatto anche degli enormi passi in avanti durante una lezione con un simpatizzante giovedì il che ha aiutato TANTO! Il lavoro procede alla grande! È bello vedere che il Padre Celeste ci benedice per il nostro duro lavoro!
-Un bambino di 7 anni ha visto una foto del Presidente Russell M. Nelson nel mio innario e mi ha chiesto se fosse mio padre. Sì, mio padre è un uomo di 93 anni!
-Quando stavo leggendo il libro di Mormon con un simpatizzante invece di leggere anguillons (lancette) ho letto involontariamente anguilles (anguille) mentre si parlava della Liahona ahahah così ho detto che la Liahona (bussola) aveva due anguille dentro che guidavano la famiglia di Nefi
-Il 16 agosto ho compiuto UN ANNO di missione! AH!! Non sono sicura di come sia potuto accadere, non ho mai visto un anno della mia vita passare così velocemente. Il tempo sta volando e non mi piace! È pazzesco ripensare a tutto quello che è successo in quest'ultimo anno. Ho imparato tanto e ha fatto tante eperienze che mi hanno cambiato la vita! Non avrei mai pensato di servire una missione nella Polinesia Francese ma sono COSÌ grata che il Padre Celeste mi abbia mandato qui. Questo è stato l'anno più difficile ma più incredibile della mia vita! Non ho amato ogni momento, ci sono di sicuro momenti quando si vorrebbe fare tutt'altro, soprattutto nei momenti di fatica, scoraggiamento o rigetto. Ma sono grata per ciascuno di questi momenti perché mi hanno aiutato a crescere molto! Amo la mia missione con tutto il mio cuore. Mi sento come se il mio cuore sia stato sottoposto a forti sforzi, ho provato sensazioni estreme. È stata un'esperienza unica nella vita! Onestamente farei due anni di missione se potessi. Sono così triste al pensiero che siano rimasti solo sei mesi!! Ma voglio dare a Gesù Cristo e al Padre Celeste tutto quello che ho, fino alla fine.
AMO ESSERE UNA MISSIONARIA A TAHITI!!! Ai prossimi sei mesi e a tutte le esperienze incredibili che stanno per accadere!
Questa settimana ci sono i trasferimenti e sto pregando tanto di rimanere un altro trasferimento a Fautaua 2!!!
