Weekly Email 49: Tacos are not Italian food!!

Ok I don't have much time left so super fast:
- Our zone has 3 new sister missionaries who just got to Tahiti and they're all so awesome!!! One of them is Soeur Matthews, who Soeur Jensen is training. Soeur Maitere and I live with them and it's so fun! We're always laughing so hard that we're crying, I love it!
- Another great week! Something I'm really trying to focus on this transfer is being even more bold. Going up to people isn't usually that hard for me, but sometimes I feel the fear of awkwardness or rejection block me a little. So I'm really trying to go more out of my comfort zone. Two scriptures I found that I really like are: "Et dorenavant tu accompliras tout ton travail en Sion de toute ton ame; oui, tu ouvriras toujours la bouche pour ma cause sans craindre ce que l'homme peut faire, care je suis avec toi" D&A 30:11 (And your whole labor shall be in Zion, with all your soul, from henceforth; yea, you shall ever open your mouth in my cause, not fearing what man can do, for I am with you), and "Je me confie en Dieu, je ne crains rien" Psaumes 56:5 (In God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me
). Whenever I feel scared I just tell myself Je ne crains rien!!! and then just go for it. There's a woman in our secteur who's the mom of one of our inactive friends. She isn't a member and for some reason she hates us and always ignores us, even though she's a really nice person usually. She kinda terrifies me and Sr Maitere. On Thursday we felt like we should go say hi to her but I was really scared to. Going to talk to her felt like the equivalent of going to talk to a dragon in a cave. But I remembered the scriptures so we just said a prayer and then mustered up the courage to go over. She actually came out to talk to us and was super nice to us. It was super unexpected. I don't know what changed but it was a cool experience! - My birthday was yesterday, I am now 20!!! It was seriously the best day ever! I was super spoiled by my missionary and member friends. I ate SO much, I got pancakes, cream puffs, and 4 different birthday cakes, it was a party. I can't think of a better way to turn 20! Also, Huahine is here to go to the temple so I was reunited with them!!!!! JOY!
Also, I've had multiple people here tell me "I love Italian food! Like tacos!" and I'm just like "That's not Italian!!" hahaha

Ok, non mi rimane molto tempo così super velocemente:
-La nostra zona ha tre sorelle missionarie nuove che sono appena arrivate a Tahiti e sono tutte bravissime!!! Una di queste è Sorella Matthews, la cui addestratrice è Sorella Jensen. Io e Sorella Maitere viviamo con loro ed è così divertente! Ridiamo sempre così tanto che ci viene da piangere, troppo forte!
-Un'altra gran bella settimana! Una cosa che sto cercando di migliorare molto questo trasferimento è l'essere più spavalda. Andare dalle persone non è solitamente un problema per me ma a volte il timore di sembrare strana o di essere mandata via mi blocca un pochino. Così sto davvero cercando di superare i miei limiti. Ho trovato queste due scritture che mi piacciono davvero molto: "E d’ora innanzi tutto il tuo lavoro sarà in Sion, con tutta la tua anima; sì, apri sempre la bocca per la mia causa, senza temere quanto possa fare l’uomo, poiché io sarò con te." D&A 30:11, e "In Dio confido e non temerò; che mi può far l’uomo?" Salmi 56. Ogni volta che ho paura mi dico semplicemente Je ne crains rien!!! (Non ho paura di nulla!!!) e poi faccio quello che devo. C'è una donna nel nostro settore che è la madre di una delle nostre amiche inattive. Non è un membro e per qualche motivo ci odia e ci ignora sempre anche se solitamente è una persona molto a modo. Però terrorizza me e Sorella Maitere un po'. Giovedì abbiamo sentito di dover andare a salutarla ma avevo molta paura di farlo. Andare a parlare con lei mi sembrava come andare a parlare con un drago in una caverna. Ma mi sono ricordata di quelle scritture così abbiamo detto una preghiera e abbiamo trovato il coraggio di andare da lei. Anzi è venuta fuori a parlare con noi ed è stata gentilissima. Non ce lo aspettavamo assolutamente. Non so che cosa sia cambiato ma è stata una bella esperienza!
-Ieri è stato il mio compleanno. Ho 20 anni ora!!!! È stato seriamente il più bel giorno in assoluto! Sono stata super coccolata dai missionari e dai miei amici membri. Ho mangiato TANTISSIMO, pancakes, profiterols e 4 diversi tipi di torte, è stata una festa. Non posso immaginare un modo migliore di compiere 20 anni! E poi Huahine è qui in visita al tempio così mi sono rivista con loro!!!!!! GIOIA!
E poi ci sono state molte persone qui che mi hanno detto "Amiamo il cibo italiano! Come i tacos!" E io ho detto "Ma quello non è cibo italiano!" ahahah
Ok, mi scuso per la brutta mail, ho scritto molto velocemente e non ho più tempo. Godetevi le foto!
