Weekly Email 43: Exploding Spiders and Pigs in Dumpsters

So one day me and Sr Maitere were talking to someone and they said "There's a pig in the dumpster". I thought I heard wrong but nope there was a pig asleep in the dumpster! The woman said "It's homeless so we put it in there so the kids don't touch it" hahahah what
Also when we came home that day there was a BIG spider on the wall. So I was trying not to freak out but then Sr Maitere just nails it with the broom and it exploded! It was so gross!! But at least it's dead....anyways:
Ok this week has been SO GOOD! I'm so glad to be back with my girl Sr Maitere!! The magic we had on Huahine is back full force! We've been SO busy this week but we've been having so much fun and seeing so many blessings! Everyday we leave the house at 7:30am and don't come back until 8:30pm and there's still so much to do before bed! And on top of that STL duties woo ;) Sometimes with so much to do it's stressful because I'm worried I'll forget to do something or not be able to plan ahead as well as I want to. BUT no need to fear! God is with us every step and it is so obvious. We are always in the right place at the right time. There are so many "coincidences" and I know it's not coincidences, Heavenly Father is aware of us and helping us every day. We just need to trust in Him!
There's been so many cool experiences this week! One thing I love about missionary work is being able to serve others all the time. This week we've been visiting members (most who we've never met before because they're inactive) and amis for their birthdays! It has been so fun being able to surprise people and help them feel special! A lot of people have been so touched that they just start bawling and it makes me feel good to know we helped someone in need. One inactive turned 74 on Sunday so we visited him. He started crying so much when we started singing to him and said "How did you know it was my birthday?". He lives all alone and his kids and grandkids hadn't even done anything for him! He said "How many birthdays have passed with no celebrations!". It was sad but also touching. We told him Heavenly Father loves Him and that He sent us to help him be happy on his birthday! Another family of inactives lost someone this week and they were super sad, so me and Soeur Maitere surprised them with a cake, they were so happy! It feels good to help people, service really is so important!
Saturday we were fasting and it was SO HOT. I wanted to die. Someone was nice and gave us Oreo chocolate frappes and it looked so good. I wanted to drink it so bad. But I knew that giving it up was an extra sacrifice but that God would bless us in our fast even more. I was really tempted to drink it, but instead we gave it to two girls on the side of the road. They were really touched by that! So extra service opportunity yay! It's the small things that are important!
Me and Sr Maitere are really excited for this transfer! This week still had its disappointments but I don't want to focus on that! There are many reasons to be happy, we did good work this week! I know miracles are ahead of us. Like we discussed at church yesterday "When you are a child of God there is NOTHING you can't do!". Saturday me and Sr Maitere were at the temple. There was a couple there getting sealed!! When we were in the Celestial Room I told Sr Maitere "One day we'll stand in this exact spot with a convert from Fautaua 2!". And I believe it!
Time is flying, it's super weird. We met the new missionaries on Tuesday and I felt so old! But I got to see some of my MTC friends at President's house and it's so cool to see how we're all learning and progressing! Missions really are the best!

Allora un giorno io e Sorella Maitere stavamo parlando con alcune persone e hanno detto "C'è un maiale nel cassonetto". Pensavo di aver capito male ma no, c'era davvero un maiale addormentato nel cassonetto! La donna ha detto "È randagio così lo abbiamo messo là e i bambini non lo toccano" ahahah, ma cosa?
Inoltre quando siamo tornate a casa quel giorno c'era un ragno ENORME sul muro. Così stavo cercando di non farmi prendere dal panico quando Sorella Maitere l'ha inchiodato con la scopa ed è esploso! Faceva così schifo!! Ma almeno è morto... comunque:
Ok allora questa settimana è stata COOOOSÌ BUONA! Sono così contenta di essere tornata con la mia brava ragazza Sorella Maitere!!! La magia che avevamo a Huahine è tornata in pieno! Siamo state COSÌ impegnate questa settimana ma ci siamo divertite tanto e abbiamo visto così tante benedizioni! Ogni mattina usciamo di casa alle 7:30 e non torniamo fino alle 20:30 e c'è ancora tanto da fare prima di andare a dormire! Ed oltre a questo ci sono le responsabilità di STL ;) A volte il così tanto da fare è stressante perché mi preoccupo che possa dimenticare di fare qualcosa o di non essere capace di programmare bene con sufficiente anticipo come vorrei fare. MA non c'è motivo di aver paura! Dio è con noi ad ogni passo ed è così ovvio. Siamo sempre al posto giusto al momento giusto. Ci sono così tante "coincidenze" e so che non sono coincidenze, Il Padre Celeste è a conoscenza di tutti noi e ci aiuta ogni giorno. Dobbiamo solo fidarci di LUI!
Sabato stavamo digiunando e faceva COSÌ CALDO. Volevo morire. Qualcuno è stato gentile e ci ha dato un frappè al cioccolato e sembrava così buono. Volevo tanto berlo! Ma sapevo che darlo a qualcun altro sarebbe stato un sacrificio extra
Ci sono state tante esperienze interessanti questa settimana! Una cosa che amo del lavoro missionario è il poter essere in grado di servire gli altri in ogni momento. Questa settimana abbiamo visitato dei membri (la maggior parte dei quali non avevamo mai visto perché sono inattivi) e dei simpatizzanti per il loro compleanno! È stato così divertente sorprenderli e aiutarli a farli sentire speciali! Un sacco di persone sono rimaste molto toccate e si sono messe a piangere e singhiozzare e mi fa sentir bene sapere che abbiamo aiutato qualcuno nel bisogno. Uno di questi inattivi faceva 74 anni domenica così siamo andate a trovarlo. Ha cominciato a piangere così tanto quando abbiamo cominciato a cantare per lui e ha detto "Come sapevate che era il mio compleanno?". Vive da solo e i suoi figli e nipoti non hanno fatto niente per lui! Ha detto "quanti compleanni sono passati senza alcuna celebrazione!" È stato triste ma anche toccante. Gli abbiamo detto che il Padre Celeste Lo ama e che Lui ci aveva mandate per aiutarlo ad essere felice il giorno del suo compleanno! Un'altra famiglia di inattivi ha perso qualcuno questa settimana ed erano tristissimi, così io e Sorella Maitere li abbiamo sorpresi con un dolce, sono stati così felici! Ci fa sentire bene aiutare gli altri, il servizio è davvero così importante!
Sabato stavamo digiunando e faceva COSÌ CALDO. Volevo morire. Qualcuno è stato gentile e ci ha dato un frappè al cioccolato e sembrava così buono. Volevo tanto berlo. Ma sapevo che rinunciarci sarebbe stato un ulteriore sacrificio e che Dio ci avrebbe benedetto nel nostro digiuno ancora di più. Sono stata proprio tentata di berlo ma invece l'abbiamo dato a due ragazzine sul bordo della strada. Sono state molto toccate da questo! Così ecco un'ulteriore opportunità di servizio, evviva! Sono le piccole cose che sono importanti!
Io e Sorella Maitere siamo molto emozionate per questo trasferimento! Questa settimana ha avuto lo stesso le sue delusioni ma non mi voglio concentrare su quello! Ci sono molte ragioni per essere felici, abbiamo fatto un buon lavoro questa settimana! So che i miracoli stanno per accadere. Come abbiamo detto in chiesa ieri "Quando si è figli di Dio non c'è NULLA che non possiamo fare!". Sabato io e Sorella Maitere siamo state al tempio. C'era una coppia che stava per suggellarsi!! Quando eravamo nella Sala Celeste ho detto a Sorella Maitere "Un giorno ci troveremo in questo esatto posto con un convertito di Fautaua 2!" E ci credo!
Il tempo sta volando, è stranissimo. Abbiamo incontrato i nuovi missionari martedì e mi sono sentita così vecchia! Ma ho potuto vedere alcuni dei miei amici del MTC alla casa del Presidente ed è così forte vedere quanto stiamo tutti imparando e progredendo! Le missioni sono la cosa più bella!
