Weekly Email 41: "Mozart was reincarnated"
Hey everyone! I can't believe another week has passed already!
This past week in good old Pape'ete:
- I got to go on a split with Soeur Kaufasi (Tongan from NZ!) in her secteur of Pirae 1. It was a good day! I got to do a Tim Tam Slam for the first time ever and it changed my life!!! It was so good. Shoutout to Elder Schill because he was the first person to tell me what that was! Many thanks.
Note from Mom: I found an online video that shows what a Tim Tam Slam is although I'm sure Soeur Battezzato didn't use coffee but perhaps chocolate or some other hot drink
We were trying to do language study outside when this lady came up to me and Soeur Kaufasi. She asked about the plan of salvation so we tried to teach that, and then she asked what we believed about reincarnation. We were like we don't actually believe in that, and then she goes off for 30 minutes about her beliefs on reincarnation. She said Mozart was definitely reincarnated and that if we're interested, there's a lady in the apartment building that can talk to our soul and tell us about our past lives. So that was interesting....
- This week was Zone Conference! We did it with the Faaa Zone and we also got to see the Arue and Mahina zones. Which means after EIGHT months I finally have now seen all my MTC friends in the mission field! I was so so excited. Like Alma in the Book of Mormon when he finally sees his friends for the first time in 14 years. I love my MTC district so much!! I always tell everyone they're the best Elders in the mission field haha Sadly I didn't get any pictures with anyone because there wasn't enough time
- We got eight new amis last week thanks to our blitz! The people we are now teaching are so prepared, it is amazing. I am so glad that Heavenly Father put us in their paths! Almost all of our super super potentiel amis have already contact with missionaries in the past. It just proves that you're always planting seeds as a missionary, no effort is every wasted!
- This week was crazy, stressful, and sad for a lot of reasons. One of them was because Sr Nicholls had to go home for medical reasons :( It was hard to watch her go but I know she did a great work here and there are only great things ahead for her after the mission! We got permission to drop her off at the airport, being there was giving me flashbacks to my very first night in Tahiti. How much has changed since then!
- Saturday me and Soeur Gandon got to go to a wedding/baptism in Paea and we had to buy 400 plastic plates and 100 cups for it. Who knew plastic plates cost 60 dollars!
- We were at a member's house yesterday and they gave me and Soeur Gandon ukeleles they made themselves as a present!! So that was super sweet!
- This week is transfer calls! I'm sad because I think Sr Gandon will get transferred, since she's been here 6 months and only has 2 transfers left before going home. I don't want her to go! We make a good team! But I know God's plan is always best.
This week has had a lot of ups and downs mentally and emotionally, that's how it is on a mission! But I know God is with us every step of the way. No one ever said missions were easy! But it's the hard things that are worth it the most.
At Zone Conference we talked about being more bold, and a goal I had already had for myself was to be more courageous. So be bold! Be courageous! When God is with you, who can stand against you?
Like the song says "COURAGE! For the Lord is on our side!!"

Ciao a tutti! Non ci posso credere che sia passata già un'altra settimana!
La settimana scorsa nella buona vecchia Pape'ete:
-Sono andata a fare uno scambio con Sorella Kaufasi (nativa della isole Tonga ma vive in Nuova Zelanda!) nel settore di Pirae 1. È stata una buona giornata! Ho potuto fare un Tim Tam Slam per la prima volta in assoluto e mi ha cambiato la vita!!! È stato così bello. Urrà per Anziano Schill perché è stato il primo a dirmi cosa fosse! Grazie mille. Abbiamo cercato di fare lo studio della lingua all'aperto quando questa donna si è avvicinata a me e a Sorella Kaufasi. Ci ha chiesto informazioni sul piano di salvezza così abbiamo cercato di spiegarglielo e poi lei si è messa a parlare per 30 minuti sulle sue credenze in merito alla reincarnazione. Ha detto che Mozart si era di sicuro reincarnato e che se eravamo interessate c'era una signora nel palazzo che poteva parlare alle nostre anime e svelarci cose inerenti alle nostre vite passate. Così quello era interessante...(da leggersi in tono ironico)
-Questa settimana abbiamo fatto la Conferenza di Zona! L'abbiamo fatta con la zona di Faaa e abbiamo visto anche le zone di Arue e Mahina. Il che significa che dopo OTTO mesi ho finalmente visto tutti i miei amici del MTC sul campo di missione! Ero così contenta. Come Alma nel Libro di Mormon quando finalmente incontra i suoi amici per la prima volta dopo 14 anni. Amo il mio distretto del MTC così tanto!! Dico sempre a tutti che sono i migliori Anziani della missione ahah. Sfortunatamente non ho fatto nessuna foto con loro perché non c'era abbastanza tempo.
-Abbiamo trovato otto nuovi simpatizzanti la scorsa settimana grazie al nostro blitz! Le persone a cui insegnamo sono così preparate, è sorprendente. Sono così grata che il Padre Celeste ci abbia messo sul loro cammino! Quasi tutti i nostri simpatizzanti super potenziali hanno avuto già contatti con i missionari in passato. Questo dimostra davvero che si piantano sempre dei semi quando si è missionari, nessuno sforzo è mai sprecato!
-Questa settimana è stata pazzesca, stressante e triste per molti motivi. Uno di questi è stato il fatto che Sorella Nicholls è dovuta tornare a casa per ragioni mediche :( È stato difficile vederla andare via ma so che ha fatto un grande lavoro qui e che ci sono solo grandi cose nel suo futuro dopo la missione! Abbiamo avuto il permesso di portarla all'aereoporto, l'essere lì mi ha fatto tornare in mente quando sono arrivata a Tahiti la prima sera. Quante cose sono cambiate da allora!
-Sabato io e Sorella Gandon siamo andate ad un matrimonio/battesimo a Paea e abbiamo dovuto comprare 400 piatti di plastica e 100 bicchieri. Chi poteva immaginare che i piatti di plastica sarebbero costati 60 dollari!
-Eravamo a casa di alcuni membri ieri e hanno regalato a me e a Sorella Gandon un ukelele a testa che hanno fatto proprio loro!!!! È stato dolcissimo!
-Questa è la settimana dei trasferimenti! Sono triste perché penso che Sorella Gandon verrà trasferita dal momento che è qui già da 6 mesi e le sono rimasti solo 2 trasferimenti prima di tornare a casa. Non voglio che se ne vada! Siamo una buona squadra insieme! Ma so che il piano di Dio è sempre il migliore.
Questa settimana ci sono stati un sacco di alti e bassi mentali ed emotivi, è così in missione! Ma so che Dio è con noi in ogni momento. Nessuno ha mai detto che le missioni siano facili! Ma sono le cose difficili quelle che hanno più valore.
Alla Conferenza di zona abbiamo parlato di come essere più audaci e un obiettivo che mi sono prefissa è quello di essere più coraggiosa. Allora siate arditi! Siate coraggiosi! Quando Dio è con voi, chi può essere contro?
