Weekly Email 38: Dieu nous gâte :)
Hello everyone! My subject line translates as "God spoils us" which is so true!!! He is seriously so good to us, I'm just loving missionary life here in Pape'ete!!
-this week we got to go to the TEMPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hadn't been to the temple in 7 long months and I wanted to cry tears of joy. Not being able to go to the temple for so long made me realize how important it is and how I took it for granted for so long. The temple really is a haven from the outside world, nothing dirty, loud, or evil from the outside world can get in. Inside the temple you feel nothing but love and peace. You can leave all your troubles behind and just be close to Heaven. It was over too fast, I didn't want to leave!!! I want everyone to be able to go to the temple and feel like I did, especially my amis! That really is the goal for us, to get people to the temple, not just baptism. How blessed we are to have a temple in Polynesia! My new chapel is right behind the temple, so I see the temple every Sunday and every day when we go into the secteur! And sometimes we have lessons on the temple grounds. I love being close to the temple! I'm never taking it for granted again.
- We were teaching prayer to an ami and asked him what he was thankful for. He said the joy of living! Tahitians always thank God in their prayers for the breath of life he gives us each day, and I love that!
- At conseil des dirigeants we watched a talk called "Feed My Sheep" by Elder Holland.WOW it was powerful. My favorite phrase was "Do you love me? Then feed my sheep!". Christ said it to one of his apostles, but it's like he's speaking to us missionaries! "Do you love me? Then feed my sheep!"
- One of our amis back in Punaauia told me and Soeur Siri one time that when she was around us she just felt a strong feeling of joy and love! She said it just transmitted so strongly around when we were there. That was nice to hear! If we have the Spirit with us we can all feel that way!
- One of the perks of being STL is that we have a smartphone!! After texting for so long on a brick phone texting on a touchscreen was difficult at first hahah
- One thing I love about being in a city with the temple and in mission HQ is that you run into everyone!! I've run into so many missionaries just randomly and ward members too from Punaauia! I love it!
Sorry this email is so scatterbrained, I have 5 minutes left to write so I'm typing this super fast! Also sorry to everyone that I can't write back, I still have lots of emails left and no time!! So just know that I love you guys and WILL write back!! Thanks for all the emails and support, I love hearing from my friends and family even though I can't always write back right away!

Ciao a tutti! Il titolo si traduce con "Dio ci vizia" il che è verissimo!!! È seriamente così buono con noi, amo tanto la vita missionaria a Pape'ete!!
-Questa settimana siamo potute andare al TEMPIO!!!!! Non andavo al tempio da 7 lunghi mesi e volevo piangere dalla gioia. Non poter andare al tempio per così tanto tempo mi ha fatto capire quanto sia importante e di come l'abbia dato per scontato per così tanto tempo. Il tempio è davvero un rifugio dal mondo esterno, niente di sporco, chiassoso o di malvagio può entrarvi da fuori. Nel tempio si sente solo amore e pace. Si possono lasciare tutte le preoccupazioni dietro di noi ed essere semplicemente vicini al Cielo. È finito troppo presto, non volevo andarmene!!! Voglio che tutti possano andare al tempio e sentirsi come mi sono sentita io, specialmente i miei simpatizzanti! Quello è davvero il nostro obiettivo, di poter mandare la gente al tempio, non solo che possano battezzarsi. Quanto siamo benedetti ad avere un tempio in Polinesia! La mia nuova cappella è proprio dietro al tempio, così vedo il tempio ogni domenica e ogni giorno quando vado nella nostra zona! E qualche volta insegnamo nel giardino del tempio. Amo essere vicina al tempio! Non lo darò mai più per scontato.
-Stavamo insegnando a pregare ad un simpatizzante e gli abbiamo chiesto di che cosa fosse grato. Ha detto della gioia di vivere! I taitiani ringraziano sempre Dio nelle loro preghiere per la vita che ci dà ogni giorno, e mi piace tanto!
- Alla conferenza dei Capi abbiamo visto un discorso intitolato "Pasci le mie pecore" dell'Anziano Holland. Mamma mia, è stato potente. La mia frase preferita è stata "Mi ami? Pasci le mie pecore!". Il Signore Gesù Cristo lo ha detto ad uno dei suoi apostoli, ma è come se lo stesse dicesse a noi missionari! "Mi ami? Allora pasci le mie pecore!"
- Una delle nostre simpatizzanti a Punaauia ha detto a me e a Sorella Siri una volta che quando era vicino a noi sentiva una forte sensazione di gioia e di amore! Ha detto che si trasmetteva molto forte tutt'intorno quando eravamo lì. È stato bello sentirsi dire quello! Se abbiamo lo Spirito con noi possiamo tutti sentirci così!
-Uno dei vantaggi di essere STL è che abbiamo uno smartphone!! Dopo aver mandato text per così tanto tempo con un telefono con la tastiera è stato in un primo momento difficile mandarli con uno schermo tattile ahahah
-Una cosa che amo dell'essere in una città con il tempio e nei quartier generali della missione è che si incontrano tutti!! Mi sono imbattutta per caso in così tanti missionari e anche in membri del rione di Punaauia! Che bello!
Mi dispiace se quest'email è così frammentario, mi sono rimasti solo 5 minuti per scrivere cosi sto battendo sulla tastiera super velocemente! Anche mi scuso con tutti se non posso rispondere, ho ancora tanti email e per niente tempo!! Così sappiate che vi voglio bene e che VI SCRIVERÒ!!! Grazie per tutti gli email e il sostegno, amo avere notizie dai miei amici e dalla mia famiglia anche se non posso sempre rispondere subito!
