Weekly Email 35: "Soeur Wright Is Fetching Dope"

Well just my luck I have to write on a French keyboard again so pray for me. Also I promised Soeur Wright I would make my subject line what it is so that explains that!
Also today is my 8 month mark! Ahh crazy!
What a week it's been!
This past week in Punaruu:
- Me and Sr Siri made a pact to be roommates in San Diego after college, it's happening (San Diego 2022 leggo)
- Soeur Siri opened the fridge and a bottle of Sprite fell out and exploded, and everything within a 7 foot radius got soaked! Fun!
- Instead of asking "Do you have a trash can?" (Vous avez une poubelle?) Sr Siri accidentally said to some members "Vous êtes poubelle!" (You are trash!) hahaha
- We had Multi-Zone Conference on Wednesday with Paea, Papeari, and Taravoe zones which was cool! I had never been with so many missionaries at once! I also spilled water down the front of my shirt right before the group picture with President so that was good too
- We tried to call our ami Malakai but his brother answered and said "Sorry Malakai can't come to the phone right now, he's in prison". So that's how we realized we had the wrong number and the wrong Malakai hahaha
- I don't know how but I got a flat tire on my bike in the front, then the back, and then Soeur Siri got a flat! Guess we're just unlucky, but the Elders fixed it for us so yay!
- The fire alarm went off today in our house for no reason 3 separate times in the middle of the night! I wanted to smash it so bad!
Well the days here are slow sometimes and kinda hard, I come home at the end of the day completely exhausted. Me and Soeur Siri are literally putting blood, sweat, and tears into this sectuer, but I know God is helping us and slowly but surely we're getting results! The district here is seriously like my family, I love them so much and it's good to know that even when things are tough we're there to help each other out. It's hard not to be on Huahine right now because the work is going so well there and I'm missing a lot of baptisms for amis that I found and taught for months, which is sad. But I know I'm exactly where I need to be! I'm learning so much in Punaruu and I'm grateful to be a missionary here.

Beh sono proprio fortunata a dover scrivere di nuovo su una tastiera francese così pregate per me. Ho anche promesso a Sorella Wright che avrei scritto quello che ho scritto come titolo e ciò spiega la ragione del titolo stesso ("Soeur Wright Is Fetching Dope" è un'espressione colloquiale per dire "Sorella Wright è molto forte").
Inoltre oggi ho fatto 8 mesi di missione! Ahh, pazzesco!
Che settimana che è stata!
Questa settimana passata a Punaruu:
Io e Sorella Siri abbiamo fatto un patto che saremo colleghe di stanza a San Diego dopo il college, accadrà di sicuro (San Diego 2022 e vai!)
Sorella Siri ha aperto il frigo e una bottiglia di Sprite è caduta ed è esplosa e tutto ciò che era nel raggio di 2 metri si è inzuppato! Che divertimento!
Invece di chiedere "Avete un cestino della spazzatura?" (Vous avez une poubelle?) Sorella Siri ha detto erroneamente ad alcuni membri "Vous êtes poubelle!" ("Voi siete spazzatura!") ahahah
Abbiamo fatto una conferenza di zona mercoledì con le zone di Paea, Papeari e Taravoe il che è stato davvero bello! Non sono mai stata con tanti missionari contemporaneamente! Ho anche versato dell'acqua sul davanti della mia camicetta proprio prima di fare la foto di gruppo con il Presidente così anche quello è stato "bello".
Abbiamo cercato di chiamare il nostro simpatizzante Malakai ma suo fratello ha risposto e ha detto "Mi dispiace ma Malakai non può venire al telefono ora, è in prigione." Abbiamo quindi capito che avevamo il numero sbagliato e anche il Malakai sbagliato ahahah
Non so come ma ho bucato la ruota davanti della bici, poi quella di dietro e poi è stata la volta di Sorella Siri! Suppongo che siamo solo sfortunate, ma gli Anziani ce le hanno riparate così evviva!
L'allarme antincendio stanotte è partito 3 volte a casa nostra senza motivo nel cuore della notte! Avrei tanto voluto sfasciarlo!
Ebbene i giorni qui a volte sono lenti e un po' difficili, torno a casa alla fine del giorno completamente esausta. Io e Sorella Siri stiamo letteralmente versando sangue, sudore e lacrime in questa zona ma so che Dio ci sta aiutando e lentamente ma sicuramente stiamo ottenendo risultati! Il distretto qui è seriamente come la mia famiglia, li amo davvero tanto ed è bello sapere che anche quando le cose sono difficili siamo qui per aiutarci l'un l'altro. È difficile non stare a Huahine ora perché il lavoro sta andando molto bene lì e mi sto perdendo diversi battesimi di simpatizzanti che ho trovato e a cui ho insegnato per mesi, il che è triste. Ma so di essere esattamente dove ho bisogno di essere! Sto imparando tanto a Punaruu e sono grata di essere una missionaria qui.
