Weekly Email 32: Hotter than 90 million Africas

IA ORANA TATOU!

So it was SUPER hot this week. Once I did an internship in a 5th grade class and I was correcting the homework the kids had done. One kid wrote "It was hotter outside than 90 million Africas", and I think that's a good description of the weather this week!

It's been a great week in Punaruu! This week in numbers:

  • number of doughnuts we bought before our hike last pday: 16

  • frequency of times I regretted eating doughnuts before the hike because I thought I was going to throw up: every 5 minutes

  • number of times us Soeurs told the Elders we wanted to die because it was SO STEEP: at least 15

  • number of times Soeur Wright and Soeur O'Hara layed in the road and gave up: only 1!

  • number of times I went to the doctor with Soeur Siri because her leg got an infection and swelled up like a balloon: only 1 luckily!

  • what the temperature felt like this week: 150F

  • my level of happiness when I found imported gelato and ravioli from Italy at the grocery store: 1,000,000

We got to meet the rest of the zone! We saw them Friday, Saturday, and Sunday because we had a lot of meetings together. The rest of the zone is Elder Busch (Ohio), Elder Fox (California), Elder Fawson (Missouri), Elder Joyce (New Zealand- he was with me in the MTC!), Elder Coxhead (New Zealand), and Elder Dore (Wales). They're awesome!

  • number of times Elder Fawson, Busch, and Fox tried to tell me ketchup on pasta is tasty: 15

  • number of times that I told them that was in no way shape or size acceptable: 20

  • number of times Soeur Wright found bugs in her mattress: 2

Well it's been a fun week! I love the district so much and the Elders are super great and take good care of us Sisters. This week me and Soeur Siri worked for hours in the sun contacting and recontacting, but we were only able to get one new ami which was kind of sad. But I know we tried our best and if we keep working hard without getting discouraged we will be blessed! We worked a lot with the members this week which was great!

I encourage you all to prepare for Easter and General Conference this weekend! Yesterday at church someone said something I really liked: "Give Christ a little bit of your time because He gave you His life".

IA ORANA TATOU!

Ha fatto CALDISSIMO questa settimana. Una volta ho fatto un tirocinio in una classe di V elementare e stavo correggendo i compiti di casa dei bambini. Uno di loro ha scritto "Fuori ha fatto più caldo di 90 milioni di Afriche" e penso che sia una buona descrizione del tempo di questa settimana!

È stata una grande settimana a Punaruu! Questa settimana in numeri:

  • Numero di ciambelle che abbiamo comprato prima della nostra escursione lo scorso pday: 16

  • Frequenza delle volte che mi sono pentita di averle mangiate prima dell'escursione perché pensavo che avrei vomitato: ogni 5 minuti.

  • Numero delle volte che noi Sorelle abbiamo detto agli Anziani che volevamo morire perché era COSÌ RIPIDO: almeno 15

  • Numero delle volte che Sorella Wright e Sorella O'Hara si sono sdraiate per strada e hanno rinunciato a proseguire: solo 1!

  • Numero delle volte che sono andata dal dottore con Sorella Siri perché la sua gamba ha contratto un'infezione e si è gonfiata come un pallone: solo 1 fortunatamente!

  • Come sembra essere la temperatura questa settimana: 40C

  • Il mio livello di felicità quando ho trovato al negozio di alimentari il gelato e i ravioli importati dall'Italia: 1,000,000

Abbiamo incontrato il resto della zona! Li abbiamo visti venerdì, sabato e domenica perché abbiamo fatto un sacco di riunioni insieme. Il resto della zona è Anziano Busch (Ohio), Anziano Fox (California), Anziano Fawson (Missouri), Anziano Joyce (Nuova Zelanda-stava con me al MTC!), Anziano Coxhead (Nuova Zelanda) e Anziano Dore (Galles). Sono favolosi!

  • Numero delle volte che gli Anziani Fawson, Busch e Fox hanno cercato di dirmi che il ketchup sulla pasta è delizioso: 15

  • Numero delle volte che io ho detto loro che ciò non era accettabile a prescindere dalla forma e dimensione della pasta: 20

  • Numero delle volte che Sorella Wright ha trovato degli insetti nel suo materasso: 2

Ebbene è stata una settimana divertente! Amo così tanto il distretto e gli Anziani sono superbravi e si prendono buona cura di noi Sorelle. Questa settimana io e Sorella Siri abbiamo lavorato per ore sotto il sole contattando e ricontattando persone, ma abbiamo potuto trovare solo un simpatizzante il che è stato un po' triste. Ma so che abbiamo fatto del nostro meglio e se continuamo a lavorare duro senza scoraggiarci saremo benedette! Abbiamo lavorato un sacco con i membri questa settimana il che è stato bello!

V'incoraggio tutti a prepararvi per Pasqua e per la Conferenza Generale questo fine settimana! Ieri qualcuno in chiesa ha detto qualcosa che mi è piaciuto veramente: "Date a Cristo un po' del vostro tempo perché Lui ha dato la sua vita per voi".

Passate una buona settimana e ricordate che siete una figlia/o di Dio e che siete amati moltissimo!
