Weekly Email 6: TAHITI I'M COMING!

It's been another amazing week at the MTC! I'm going to start off with the funny moments because there were some good ones.
1. On Tuesday Elder Sagers ate EIGHT doughnuts for breakfast. His metabolism is insane and he says he hasn't gained a pound in three years. Every morning he has three doughnuts but he decided to see if he could eat eight. He ate the first six in like ten minutes. At one point it looked like he was going to throw up but then he finished off the last two! What a legend.
2. I timed myself saying the Missionary Purpose in Tahitian and I can say it in 12 seconds! And I can say it in 6 seconds in French! In Tahitian it's "A ani manihini i te mau taata ia haerai mai e i te Mesia na roto i te tauturaa ia ratou ia farii i te evanelia tei faaho'i-faahouhia mea na roto i te faroo ia Iesua Mesia e i Ta'na taraehara, te tatarahapa, te bapetizohia, e te fariiraa i te horo'a O te Varua Maitai, e i te tape'raa i tea noa'tu i te hopea ra".Yup I can say that in 12 seconds! They didn't call me Motor Mouth in 3rd grade for nothing :)
3. Monday night the fire alarm went off at 10 pm in my residence hall because someone walked out a door that says "do not open door or alarm will go off"....we had to wait outside for 30 minutes hahaha all the foreign missionaries were super confused.
4. My teacher said the other day that since I'm a solo sister with 7 elders that it's like Snow White and the 7 dwarves hahahaha
Well this is it! In 3 days I'll be in Tahiti!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe it! I have absolutely loved my time here at the MTC. I have felt the Spirit so strong and have learned so much. In this short month my life has already changed immensely. I have met the most amazing people and have already made friends for life. I know it will just keep getting better! In my first district I really learned how to teach well and how to teach by the Spirit, and that is so important. In my second district I learned the importance of pressing forward through all things and NEVER giving up. I have loved my mission so far SO much. I'm so excited to now be able to experience everything Tahiti has to offer! It still hasn't really sunk in yet that I'm going there!
On Monday I was role playing with Elder Taylor. I was being the missionary and he was playing an investigator who doesn't see why they need the Gospel because they think life is good already. So to teach him I showed him my photo book and explained how my life has been better because of the Gospel. Life is SO much better when we have Christ and God in it! Everything good in my life, my friends, my family, BYU, my mission, etc. have all come because I'm a member of this church! Prayer, scripture study, service, the temple, church and so many other things have brought me so much joy and love! When talking about it I just got so happy! I felt like I was on fire with pure joy. When Elder Taylor was evaluating me at the end he was like "Wow! You were radiating during that!". I know the Gospel brings pure and lasting joy. I have seen it in my life time and time again. I am so grateful for it and so excited to be able to bring this joy to the people of Tahiti!
Next time you hear from me I'll be somewhere in the Pacific! In Tahiti P-day is Monday, and since I'm traveling this up coming Monday I don't know if I'll be able to write again before October 2! I also won't have an iPad anymore after the MTC so I won't be able to read emails during the week anymore.
From the day I opened my mission call nothing about my mission has gone the way I planned...it's been so much better!! I'm so grateful that I have a loving Heavenly Father in charge of my life who knows way better than I do! I didn't know how good it could get until He gave it to me!

Questa è stata un'altra settimana incredibile al MTC! Comincerò con le situazioni da ridere perché ce ne sono state di belle.
1. Martedì Anziano Sagers ha mangiato OTTO ciambelle per colazione. Ha un metabolismo pazzesco e ha detto che non ha messo su neanche un chilo negli ultimi tre anni. Ogni mattina mangia tre ciambelle ma ha voluto vedere se potesse riuscire a mangiarne otto. Ha mangiato le prime sei in dieci minuti. A un certo punto sembrava come se stesse per vomitare ma poi ha finito le ultime due! Mitico!
2. Ho calcolato il tempo che impiego a ripetere Lo Scopo di un Missionario in taitiano e riesco a dirlo in 12 secondi! E riesco a farlo in 6 secondi in francese! In taitiano è "A ani manihini i te mau taata ia haerai mai e i te Mesia na roto i te tauturaa ia ratou ia farii i te evanelia tei faaho'i-faahouhia mea na roto i te faroo ia Iesua Mesia e i Ta'na taraehara, te tatarahapa, te bapetizohia, e te fariiraa i te horo'a O te Varua Maitai, e i te tape'raa i tea noa'tu i te hopea ra". Sì, posso dirlo in 12 secondi! Non mi hanno soprannominata "Bocca Motorino" in terza elementare senza motivo :)
3. Lunedì notte l'allarme antincendio è partito alle 22 nel mio dormitorio perché qualcuno è uscito dalla porta dove c'è scritto "Non aprire o scatta l'allarme"... Abbiamo dovuto aspettare fuori 30 minuti ahahah, tutti i missionari stranieri erano super confusi.
4. La mia insegnante ha detto l'altro giorno che dato che sono una Sorella sola con 7 Anziani è come se fossi Biancaneve con i Sette Nani ahahaahahah Ebbene, il momento è arrivato! Tra 3 giorni sarò a Tahiti!!!!!!! Non ci credo! Ho assolutamente amato ogni momento qui al MTC. Ho sentito lo Spirito così forte e ho imparato così tanto. In questo breve mese la mia vita è già cambiata immensamente. Ho incontrato le persone più speciali e ho già stretto amicizie per il resto della vita. So che andrà sempre meglio! Nel mio primo distretto ho imparato davvero come insegnare bene e come insegnare con lo Spirito il che è molto importante. Nel mio secondo distretto ho imparato l'importanza di andare avanti nonostante tutto e di non mollare MAI. Ho amato la mia missione COSÍ TANTO finora. Sono così emozionata ora di poter sperimentare tutto quello che Tahiti ha da offrire! Non riesco ancora del tutto a capacitarmi che ci sto andando veramente!
Lunedì scorso ho simulato una lezione con Anziano Taylor. Io facevo la missionaria e lui svolgeva il ruolo della persona che non vede l'importanza del Vangelo perché pensa che la vita vada già bene. Così per insegnare a lui questo concetto gli ho mostrato il mio album fotografico e gli ho spiegato come la mia vita è stata migliore proprio per il Vangelo. La vita è COSÍ migliore quando abbiamo Gesù Cristo e Dio! Tutte le cose buone che ho nella mia vita, i miei amici, la mia famiglia, BYU, la mia missione, ecc. sono una conseguenza dell'essere membro di questa chiesa! La preghiera, lo studio delle scritture, il servizio, il tempio, la chiesa e tante altre cose mi hanno portato così tanta gioia e amore! Quando ne parlo divento così contenta! Mi sentivo infervorata da pura gioia. Quando Anziano Taylor mi ha valutato alla fine ha detto "Oh! Eri davvero radiosa mentre parlavi!" So che il Vangelo porta gioia pura ed eterna. L'ho visto nella mia vita così tante volte. Ne sono grata e sono così emozionata di poter portare questa gioia alla gente di Tahiti!
La prossima volta che avrete mie notizie sarò da qualche parte nel Pacifico! A Tahiti il P-day è lunedì e poiché viaggerò questo lunedì non so se potrò scrivere di nuovo prima del 2 ottobre! Inoltre non avrò più l'iPad dopo il MTC e quindi non potrò più leggere gli email durante la settimana.
Dal giorno in cui ho aperto la mia chiamata in missione niente è andato come avevo programmato... perché è andato molto meglio!! Sono così grata di avere un Padre Celeste amorevole che si prende cura della mia vita meglio di quanto possa fare io! Non sapevo quanto bene sarebbe andata fino a che Lui non me l'ha concesso!
